Railways eases norms for vendors
- The Railways has made its procurement norms easier by allowing vendors who have been approved by one railway institution to be automatically eligible for supply of the same goods and services at other railway establishments.
- Previously, vendors had to go through the approval process at every establishment.
- This decision could save time and effort for vendors by doing away with the need of approaching multiple approving agencies, while also increasing the competition in public procurement, making it more economical and efficient.
Operations resume at OIL's Baghjan wells
- Most of Oil India Limited's wells in Assam's Baghjan, which were shut due to protests by locals over a fire at a gas well after a days-long blowout, have resumed operations following a meeting with a representative body of residents mediated by the Tinsukia district administration.
- Operations restarted between 7 pm and 8 pm on Saturday after the locals lifted their blockades of most of the oil and gas wells
West Bengal sees 15 more COVID-19 deaths
Delhi records 3,000 cases; 63 more die
- The national capital recorded 3,000 fresh cases, taking the tally in the city near the 60,000-mark, while the death toll due to the disease increased to 2,175.
- It was the third day on the trot that the number of cases touched or crossed the 3,000-mark.
- As many as 63 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours.

Delhi issues revised order on home isolation
- Coronavirus patients who do not have comorbidities or require hospitalisation can opt for home isolation.
- "All individuals who are positive will be referred to the COVID care centres for assessment of clinical conditions, severity of illness and presence of co-morbidities," the order said.
- An assessment will also be done to check whether adequate facilities like minimum two rooms and a separate toilet exist so that the family members and neighbours are protected and a cluster of cases does not develop in that locality, according to the order.

Spain reopens border with France
- Traffic flowed again across Spain's border with France on Sunday as the last of the strict Spanish coronavirus restrictions introduced in March were eased.
- Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced earlier this month that Madrid would remove border checks with most of its EU member partner states from June 21 as efforts to control the pandemic appeared to be working.

- Skywatchers along a narrow band from west Africa to the Arabian Peninsula, India and the Far East witnessed Sunday a dramatic "ring of fire" solar eclipse.
- So-called annular eclipses occur when the Moon -- passing between Earth and the Sun -- is not quite close enough to our planet to completely obscure sunlight, leaving a thin ring of the solar disc visible.

India reports 15,413 new cases
- The case count has reached 4,10,461, which includes 1,69,451 active cases and 2,27,756 cured.
- India also reported 306 new deaths, taking the toll to 13,254.

Indian Mission in US kick starts International Yoga Day celebrations 'virtually'
- As India celebrates the sixth annual International Day of Yoga (IDY) in the age of social distancing, celebrations on Saturday in the United States too looked a bit different.
- Themed 'Yoga At Home and Yoga with Family', this year, the Indian Mission celebrated yoga day virtually at the residence of Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu - the India house.
- The IDY 2020 was organised in partnership with the Friends of Yoga and several organizations which supports yoga in the United States.
