Fabric patterns vocabulary:



1. Floral: a floral design depicts flowers in patterns.

2. Striped: stripes are the group of lines that differs in color.

3. Checked(checkered): a checked pattern is a simple design that alternates two different colored squares.

4. Polka dotted: Polka dot is a pattern of spaced circular spots.

5. Chevron: Chevron is a pattern of zigzag stripes.

6. Plaid(tartan): a cloth having a crisscross design.

7. Ikat: Ikat is a resist dye technique used to pattern textiles.

8. Paisley: colorful swirled pattern of curved shapes.

9. Plain: simple fabric with no design.

10. Pin striped: a pattern of very thin stripes of any color running in parallel.

11. Greek key: is a pattern of squares and rectangles.

12. Animal print: pattern that resembles the skin and fur of an animal. For e.g. zebra, leopard, snake skin prints.

13. Geometric: simple geometric forms in design, like, square, triangle, circle etc.
