Set up coronavirus help desks in government offices: UP CM
- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to set up coronavirus help desks in all police stations, hospitals and government offices across the state.
- He said help desks should also be set up in jails and revenue courts. According to an official release, the chief minister told officials at a meeting that these should be equipped with pulse oximeters, infrared thermometer and sanitisers.
- Posters should also be put up with the precautions against coronavirus, he added.

Delhi HC adjourns hearing on OBC reservations
- The plea seeks directions to the Central government to follow the 27% reservation of seats for the OBC category in medical and dental colleges for the academic year 2020.
- A bench of Justice Jayant Nath posted the matter for further hearing on July 10 after the counsel for the Ministry of Health apprised the court that a case related to this is pending in the Supreme Court, which is likely to be heard on July 8.
- According to the petition, in the past two academic years - 2017-18 and 2018-19 - around 5,530 seats that should have gone to students of the OBC category were allotted to students of the general category.

PIA plane crashed due to human error
- The domestic flight from Lahore to Karachi crashed in a residential area near the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on May 22.
- The Airbus A320 aircraft of the national carrier had 91 passengers and a crew of eight.
- It crashed into the Jinnah Garden area near Model Colony in Malir, minutes before landing.
- Two passengers miraculously survived the crash.

Gilead to start trials of inhaled version of remdesivir
- Remdesivir, the investigational anti-viral medicine, is currently given to patients intravenously through daily infusions in the hospital.
- An inhaled formulation will be given through a nebuliser which could potentially allow for easier administration outside the hospital at earlier stages of disease.
- Remdesivir is an anti-viral product that is being studied in multiple ongoing international clinical trials. It has not been approved by the US FDA for any use.
