  • The unemployment rate in India fell to 8.5% in the week ended June 21.

According to CMIE, the person-days of jobs created in May 2020 under the rural unemployment scheme shot up to 565 million, 53% higher than the 370 million person-days of jobs created under the scheme in May 2019 and 2.55 times the average monthly person-days of jobs created in 2019-20.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash last month was caused by the negligence of the cockpit crew and the air control tower and not due to any technical fault, preliminary reports have shown.

  • The Airbus A320 aircraft of the national carrier had 91 passengers and a crew of eight.
